Job Responsibilities:

To work in the Managing Director’s office, supporting the Managing Director in all aspects of work, including the following,

Transactional Matters

Working closely with the Managing Director in all transactions and matters, from conceptualising, to structuring deals, to execution of the transactions and completing each matter. Transactions are varied and will include Mergers & Acquisitions, Investments, Capital Markets, and Restructuring.

Business Development & Marketing

Business development will include identifying new potential clients, pitching for deals and setting up partnerships and referral/introducer relationships. It will also entail identifying new areas/industries to target, coming up with a plan and executing it.

The candidate will also be exposed to marketing efforts and drawing up marketing strategies to gain more traction in the appropriate areas for the firm.

Operational Issues

Working with the Managing Director will also expose the candidate to all aspects of operations involved in running the firm and potential target companies.

Job Requirements:

The right candidate should have the following

  • exposure in the finance/accounting/investment banking/legal/consulting fields
  • able to master both words and numbers
  • a “can do” attitude
  • aptitude for learning and ability to take failures
  • a good command of English and a second language
Job Description:
  • Manage the planning, structuring, coordination & execution of transactions/deals, such as mergers and acquisitions, fundraising through equity and/or debt, joint ventures and other investments in public and private companies.
  • Provide legal advice on commercial and corporate (including governance) matters, and contribute to risk and commercial issues analysis
  • Research and advise on relevant laws and regulatory requirements
  • Draft, review and negotiate all relevant documents for the execution of deals and transactions
  • Conduct due diligence where necessary
  • Handle corporate secretarial matters and attend to clients’ corporate secretarial requirements
  • Assist with the incorporation of companies for local and/or overseas clients
  • Assist with the preparation, review and consolidation of board papers and facilitate preparation of board meetings
  • Management of external lawyers and other professionals
  • Any other ad hoc duties assigned
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law at a reputable university
  • 0 to 3 years of relevant working experience
  • Strong transactional, regulatory and project management experience will be advantageous
  • Being fluent in a second language is an advantage
